Editorial Policy

Last updated: July 2026

SaaSStatsHub publishes SaaS industry statistics, market data, and product comparisons. This policy explains how we select sources, verify numbers, handle affiliate relationships, and correct mistakes. It applies to every article on the site.

1. Editorial Independence

Our research team selects topics and statistics based on reader demand and industry relevance, not on vendor relationships. No SaaS vendor pays for coverage, and no advertiser can edit, approve, or suppress an article. Sponsored content, when it occurs, is labeled clearly and kept separate from editorial coverage (see Section 5).

Affiliate relationships do not influence our statistics or rankings. A product's affiliate status has zero weight in our data; we report market share, revenue, and adoption numbers the same way whether or not we earn a commission on the product.

2. Source Selection and Citation

Every statistic on SaaSStatsHub must trace back to a primary or authoritative source. We use the following source hierarchy, in order of preference:

  1. Primary sources — company filings (10-K, 10-Q, S-1), earnings releases, official press releases, and vendor documentation. These are always preferred when available.
  2. Government data — U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, Eurostat, and equivalent national statistics offices.
  3. Established research firms — Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Statista, McKinsey, Deloitte, and similar firms with a documented methodology.
  4. Reputable news outlets — Reuters, Bloomberg, TechCrunch, The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and similar outlets with editorial standards.

We do not cite blog posts, forum threads, or unverified social media posts as sources for statistics. When a number is widely cited but no primary source exists, we say so explicitly and label it as an estimate.

Every article includes a Sources section listing the name, title, date, and URL of each source used. Sources are linked directly to the original document, not to an intermediary.

3. Data Verification

Before publication, each statistic is checked against its cited source. We verify that:

When a vendor publishes a number in a press release and later restates it in a filing, we prefer the filing. When two reputable sources disagree, we cite both and explain the discrepancy.

4. Updates and Corrections

SaaS data changes quickly. We update articles when:

We prefer updating an existing article over publishing a duplicate. When we make a material correction (a number, a conclusion, or a source), we update the lastUpdated field and note the change in the article. Minor copy edits and formatting fixes are not flagged.

To report an error, email [email protected] with the article URL and the specific data point. We review corrections within 48 hours and publish fixes after verification.

5. Affiliate Relationships and Sponsored Content

SaaSStatsHub participates in affiliate programs with some (not all) of the SaaS vendors we cover. When a reader clicks an affiliate link and makes a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to the reader. This does not affect the price the reader pays.

Affiliate links are disclosed on every article that contains them, in a clearly labeled disclosure block at the top of the article. See our Affiliate Disclosure page for the full policy.

We do not accept paid placements in our statistics articles. A vendor cannot pay to appear in our "best of" lists, to be ranked higher, or to have a competitor removed. "Best of" rankings are based on publicly available data and our editorial assessment.

Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be labeled as "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" at the top of the article, and the sponsor will be named. As of July 2026, we do not publish sponsored content.

6. Authorship and Review

Articles are written by the SaaSStatsHub research team. Each article is reviewed by at least one other team member before publication to check source accuracy, internal consistency, and clarity. Articles covering financial data (company revenue, market size, valuation) receive an additional check against the primary filing.

We do not use AI to generate statistics or source citations. AI tools may be used for copy editing, formatting, or translation, but every data point and every source is selected and verified by a human researcher.

7. Conflicts of Interest

Team members must disclose any financial interest in companies they cover (stock ownership, advisory roles, employment). A team member with a disclosed conflict may not write or edit articles about that company.

SaaSStatsHub does not accept gifts, free products, or paid travel from vendors we cover. We may use free trials of SaaS products for evaluation purposes, but this is disclosed and does not affect our coverage.
